Stations of the Cross

The Stations of the Cross are the most recent addition to the St. Andrews interior, installed in late 2011.

They were specially commissioned and made by Demetz Art Studios in the Italian village of Ortisei, a small village nestling in the Dolomites.

Money for the Stations was raised by members of the congregation in memory of family, close friends and benefactors.

They were blessed and dedicated by The Right Reverend Peter Wheatley, Bishop of Edmonton on January 22nd 2012.

We adore you, O Christ, and we bless you;
because by your Holy Cross, you have redeemed the world.

THE FIRST STATION JESUS IS CONDEMNED TO DEATH	Tony Holloway	in memory of his mother Audrey (1914-1998) faithful member of St. Andrews for over forty years and Sacristan.
	Barbara Lynes	in memory of her parents Charles (1912-2010) and Ann (1916-2008) loyal members of the church who gave many years service to the church and Sunday School.
THE SECOND STATION JESUS ACCEPTS THE CROSS	Mina Reynolds	in memory of her father Eugene Opoku-Addo (1909-1983) one time head master of various schools in Ghana.
THE THIRD STATION JESUS FALLS FOR THE FIRST TIME	Hazel Sheppard and Mick Robinson	In loving memory of Gladys and Ted Sheppard and Pam Robinson.
THE FOURTH STATION JESUS MEETS HIS MOTHER	Arthur and Ann Miles	In memory of their respective mothers Miriam and Dorothy
THE FIFTH STATION SIMON OF CYRENE IS MADE TO CARRY THE CROSS	Heather Daulphin and the Lake-Daulphin family	in loving memory of their mother and brother, respectively. Mary Lake-Daulphin, dedicated member of this parish from 1975 to 2007 and her son William Lake, Dean of the Diocese of the NE Caribbean Aruba and Parish Priest of the Cathedral Parish of St John, Antigua.

THE FOURTEENTH STATION THE BODY OF JESUS IS LAID IN THE SEPULCHRE	Joe Alegbeleye	in memory of Jacob & Rebecca Alegbeleye who spent their lives spreading the Word to several villages in Afemai - Nigeria.
